I moved to Bed-Stuy 15 year ago from Boreum, I was shocked by how agressive the police were with stop and frisk.
I even had a situtation with them as well. The rang the bell stating that they got notification of an alarm going off in my house. I told them there was no alarm in the house. The did not believe I owned the house (ok, I looked 25 at the time) and tried to push their way in. I was scared to death but held my ground. After it happen I walled my mom (Mommy makes everything ok), I was crying, my heart was racing my hands were shaking. I was a really scary experience.
I am sure that prison was a very negative influence. What a tragedy. I really hope he finds a way to change his outlook as he gets a little older and perhaps can be more pragmatic to make the best life for himself.
I keep thinking about all those stops and frisks in eastern Bed-Stuy. The city wants to hold onto the information even though many of them were completely illegal, just some cop running up his numbers to fill the quota. But this is so much worse.
oh and that was not to your story BSM, more to just cobble’s asseration that mommie’s make things better, when most of the time, they really dont.

Quite a few college graduates on my block in Eastern Bed Stuy!
I see cops at the train station, that’s good. I wish they would walk around, physically walk around, the blocks.
BSM, I would have had a heart attack!
(And yes, Mommy makes everything ok, no matter what age!)

That can cheer a person up, and also be inspiring. If he sees a future with her, maybe it can help him imagine a future for himself.
