  1. *****The Day after Christmas******

    [Knocking on the door]

    “Hello? Anybody home?”

I am wondering if anybody is checking in. I hope you all had a great Christmas. I had a wonderful time [ate an extraordinary amount of food!!]

  2. “I look forward to anything ‘Dickensian.'”

    HAH!

Here’s hoping you get something big in your stocking!

MC, y’all. All my responsibilities are wrapped and under the tree, time to see if I can get curtains made before midnight. I give myself 50/50 odds.

  3. Hey, rf:

    did everybody else leave?

I saw your info about going to Fairway and thought I’d be interested until it sounded like you’re talking about 8AM rather than 8PM! I could make it early in the morning if I stay up all night but am not sure Fairway is worth getting up and out that early for!

  4. OK….out in Bucks County now with soapstone counters.

Paul Krugman is a washed up no account economist. Only morons listen to him.

Hicksville certainly sounds like white trash but I have a very hot Bangladeshi friend.

I look forward to anything “Dickensian.”

  5. Merry holidays, all!

We’re having brunch tomorrow at a restaurant in Boerum Hill. They have the regular menu as well as a holiday menu and since Christmas is on Saturday, the regular brunch menu is in place. I love it!

I grew up in the Bible belt. The Southern Baptists dominated. There were pamphlets scattered around the school talking about how sinful dancing is so there were never any school dances or proms. We had banquets instead. The big one at the end of the year was the Junior-Senior banquet. It would be held in the largest town nearby. After the banquet all the teachers and school personnel would have to leave so it wouldn’t appear to be school sponsored, and then we’d have a dance with some parents chaperoning.

The Southern Baptists also made a big deal about needing to be dunked for baptism. They didn’t think we Methodists were really saved because we were only sprinkled.
