A while ago when I lived in Clinton Hill, I was friends with a bunch of women who were immigrants from Trinidad. We all went to a funeral at the ELIM church around the corner, and they liked the service, said it reminded them of home. The following Christmas, the women went to Christmas eve service there, and the preacher demanded a collection plate offering of $100 and up. They slinked out of that service!
And I am overwhelmed by your generosity, snappy but I will have to look at my budget. After the homes, the car, the bling and the eyelashes I do’t know that I can afford 705. But since you’re winning MegaMillions tonight perhaps you’d consider pro bono work? And a duly generous donation?
ELM, was the church were they asked for the $400 love offering.
I’m about to dash out too.
MERRY XMAS LOSERS, ONE AND ALL 🙂
I have to go shop for the one Christmas gift I am buying this year. Have a great day tomorrow, whatever you do.
