Cobble…google “Sullivan Street bakery No Knead Bread” The recipe is very simple. Just make sure you preheat the oven with the pot in it. I use a Le Creuset pot but I’ve alsoused an ordianry SS stockpot as long as it has a thick heavy bottom.
You get a great hard crust bread with the right amount of holes…like a ciabatta. It’s a great recipe.
Don’t use a yeast pack that’s been open more than a week.
DIBS, this is suburbia. We don’t play with guns there.
I only play with guns up at the farm in VT. That’s why I was saying I’m more WT than they are. I’m from rural New England where people do stuff like four wheeling and playing with guns. This is suburban Kansas City where you sit around indoors and eat velveeta and watch American television but there isn’t and four wheeling or shooting.
Scott: It’s a tough line, and I certainly would not want to be the person responsible for their strategy.
I would. I would LOVE to do that.
I have a lot of respect for the art as well as the people of Brooklyn, which I don’t think they do. I would do a totally different kind of outreach. Their admissions are declining because they are marketing themselves as a kind of degraded MTV, when they are sitting on a GOLD MINE of beauty and richness. And they act as though the collections themselves are beside the point. And the neighborhood people are dumb.
Xing has been cruised by a few black guys in my neighborhood.

I didn’t say we weren’t getting a tree cobble, I said I didn’t want to get one.
