So last year my winter coat (which I had owned forever) got all old and ratty and finally had to be thrown out at the end of the season. This year I keep procrastinating and have completely neglected to buy a new coat.
me too. im not even sure im going to bother since it’s already almost january anyway. i did find in my closet that i do have one remaining fur coat that i didnt get rid of, except it’s only a half length coat (like it higher than my belly button and looks really REALLY gay). not to mention someone decided to write something in green sharpie on the back of it.
Brian Cashman just as much said, “Whew, enough with these legacy old Yankee guys” (i.e. Jeter and Rivera). OK, done with that, now I need PITCHING. The chase is on for Cliff Lee.
Lech, Bloomies was having massive sales as of last Fri – over heard the metrosexuals in the office bragging about the big sales. you big time now. you also need some HAT recommendations from Benson
One of my friends got a really super beautiful, expensive tweed top coat, very elegant. In 1965, I think. By one of his aunts, probably. I tried in my diplomatic (ha) way, that he should dump the freaking thing, it had sequed from the threadbare intellectual look to SAL’s.
Brooks Brothers on Madison Ave. has a fantastic sale the day after Christmas, but you’ve got to get there early to get the good stuff. A few years ago I scored big. I bought a fine overcoat, made in Italy from a better blend of wool, for about half off.
Someone from my office commented about a ratty looking guy on Park Ave yelling at everyone about Vermont. He’s standing near the guy with the shopping cart with the two baby kittens in it.

J.J.Hat center. Broadway and about 31 St. A fine old New York institution.
I already told Lech that when he is ready for his hat, I’ll take him there.

It goes well with my hat.

Syms has a great selection of overcoats, even pure Camel hair. Which, I believe, is organic.
STARTING to look at you funny?
