Thanks 1910- my sister did this program teaching math. She does subbing now- works nearly full time and she thinks I would like it very much. I love science so we’ll see. Don’t know that I’ll be accepted anyway.
No jobs for teaching fellows, teach-for-america, etc. except limited categories (some foreign languages, special-ed requiring extra courses for certification–$$$).
Bxgirl, I have a friend who returned to the US after living in Holland for around 20 years. She got into the teaching fellowship program as the best guarantee of a job and paid Master Degree on her return. You can certify for specialty teaching positions with what skill or education you have or past experience. She’s been doing it for six years and this year took over as Art teacher, but for the first five she taught Special Ed.
She loves/hates it, it does have rewards but it is also very demanding.
