Actually Dona it’s not bait. Being poor is super shitty. A lot of things in life are super shitty. Like getting your dog run over by a car, getting cancer, losing a child to a gang drive-by, finding your spouse in bed with your neighbor, finding yourself alone with crippling depression and some sleeping pills and a bottle of jack, realizing as you draw your last breath that life was pointless, getting hit by a bus the day after your medical insurance lapses because you were laid off, and Christmas.
AND WHY IS WAL-MART SUPPOSED TO FIX SOMEONE’S SHITTY LIFE FOR THEM? This is the basic problem in liberal thought. If you’re life is shitty it’s because someone neglected to make it better for you.
Yes, CGar, Bogart. Peter was trying on Bogart as a personality since he didn’t like his own. Oh, and terrible story about your stepmother. I’m imagining Carol Henderson having to throw the wire hangers tantrum six times in one episode.
BTW, I’ve had the opportunity to revisit Brady Bunch and partridge family with my kid (a few years ago, now). BB was even more saccharine than I remember, but I actually found I enjoyed PF — a bit more oddball and funny. And I always had a thing for Laurie (Lori?) Partridge.
rf, who are you to say they need their own place and a car? Being poor sucks. You’ve got to live without a lot of stuff. Sucks super bad. But again, why is it Wal-Mart’s fault?
BREAKINGVIEWS-Toothless U.S. debt panel still defines debate
That’s a Reuters headline. What a visual. haha.

“Where in the U.S. can you rent a place to live for $400/month?”
In 2007 (most recent data I think), every single state had housing units with gross rent less than $300. Nationally 6% of units were lower.

5 seconds on google saves a lot of assumption..
re Dona @ 12:15 — I’m developing a dry flycaster’s disdain for people who fish with bait.
“Peter was trying on Bogart as a personality since he didn’t like his own.”
I know just how he felt.
Agree that BB is even more saccharine than I recalled and Partridge Family is quirky in a funny way.
As for my stepmother, yeah, the stories I can tell you — offline, of course. And then there was my stepgrandmother . . .
Excuse me, Carol Brady/Florence Henderson.
Lech’s 12:11 — classic “bait”.
