Actually Dona it’s not bait. Being poor is super shitty. A lot of things in life are super shitty. Like getting your dog run over by a car, getting cancer, losing a child to a gang drive-by, finding your spouse in bed with your neighbor, finding yourself alone with crippling depression and some sleeping pills and a bottle of jack, realizing as you draw your last breath that life was pointless, getting hit by a bus the day after your medical insurance lapses because you were laid off, and Christmas.

AND WHY IS WAL-MART SUPPOSED TO FIX SOMEONE’S SHITTY LIFE FOR THEM? This is the basic problem in liberal thought. If you’re life is shitty it’s because someone neglected to make it better for you.

BTW, I’ve had the opportunity to revisit Brady Bunch and partridge family with my kid (a few years ago, now). BB was even more saccharine than I remember, but I actually found I enjoyed PF — a bit more oddball and funny. And I always had a thing for Laurie (Lori?) Partridge.
