I really really really really really really really really want to quit my job and just go build and house on this land that I’m buying. I would build it myself out of timber that is on the land. I would get a little portable sawmill to mill the lumber. I would dam up the stream to make a nice big pond. I would farm fish and build greenhouses to grow tomatoes in the winter. I would have chickens. I would practice law on my terms and make way less than I do now.
But I’ll never take off these golden handcuffs because I’m a big pussy.
Only downside was that one year my mother wanted me to have a studio photo taken to give to my grandparents. We hadn’t got the pix by xmas so I put a picture of A.E.Newman’s sister in a frame & gave it to them. My grandmother thanked me saying, “It’s a wonderful likeness, dear.”
Speaking of spies, we watched an old Get Smart episode over the weekend. Max and 99 are kidnapped by Siegfried on a submarine. I remember loving this show as a kid, but found the jokes kind of meh this time around. The set up is great, however.
