  1. They were put in place in 2000-01 when the Senate was 50-50 (IIRC) and the 10 year limit was the only way they could get them passed at the time.

(Glad about Buerkle. She seems great from what I have read)

  2. dh…the anbiguity and uncertainty as to what taxes will be next year delays spending by small businesses. They don’t know what to budget for

If your tax cuts are not extended, you too will suffer a loss in disposable income.

neither of these two scenarios is good right now.

I believe that the tax cuts should not be extended for those making over some much higher (yet still arbitrary) number like $1MM or $1.5MM or $2MM.

  3. Dibs- nor am I a left wing nutjob. I don’t care for unions, I am not for irresponsible entitlements, I think people who abuse the system should be held responsible. So drop the stereotyping-enough already. I think less govt is good, less spending is good if it’s feasible and lower taxes would be nice if it were coupled with a sense of reality.

  4. “I really wish someone would have pushed that assshole Roger Toussaint in front of a train.”

I have a feeling he lived on Clinton Ave as G train started skipping clinton-washington on the weekends due to “congestion”..hahahaha train only ran every 20 minutes then!

  5. I have a serious question:

So now that the republicans had their big victory, all they’re talking about is extending the bush tax cuts which will create jobs by helping small businesses.

umm – extend? meaning they’re already in place and NOT working?

am i missing something here? can someone spin this for me?

  6. “Yes dave- because you are such a model of mature, and careful thinking. Sadly, you don’t have Lech’s talent for baiting.”

I have to agree. Lech is the OT’s master baiter.

  7. bxgrl, I’m not a rightwing extremist in the least. I’m pro abortion, pro women’s rights, and simply for less government, less spending and lower taxes.

I think that entitlements need more of a case-by-case examination and when the violations are flagrant, people should be thrown out on the streets.
