  1. the Why,

after ringo pointed me to look at ajmadison site, it does look like those summit fridges is the answer – if I cant locate a side by side without the water dispenser and at a reasonable price.

am now hunting for ranges and that’s a much easier choice as I KNOW Hotpoint ranges are like 5 star-rated by consumer rpt for eons already

  2. It’s impossible to have a discussion with someone who labels your opinion asinine from the outset. Why bother? And if you don’t like name calling, you should stop doing it, dibs.

    Yes slopey- now I’m done.

  3. Re gold and commodities, I think each commodity has its own story but with the sometimes the macro story is an umbrella which arches over everything.

Now with the dollar getting a goose (no pun intended) on the Euro mess and the Korea mess, and the Chinese tightening monetary policy to curb inflation a bit, commodities have been getting the pull back that is natural in a raging bull market. About gold, I think it has lost some momentum but I really think that the factors supporting it in the first place are still in place, i.e. a hedge to a debased dollar and uncertain world economic growth. This is not just your dentist and a bunch of gold dealers, it is Central Banks buying up gold whenever it dips (IMF selling though so it can make a little money to help out those spendthrift Irish, Portuguese, Spanish, Greeks, etc…).

I have a nice fundamental research piece written by the
World Gold Council which address the bearish arguments you you have made Lech and does a beautiful job of analyzing supply demand. If you want it, please email me at Donatellaoffortgreene at hotmail dot com.

Re: fridge – I bought a ConServ refrigerator (Vestfrost) from a neighbor 9 years ago and absolutely love it!!! I’m not sure they’re available but the Summit 24″ wide x 79″ tall looks exactly the same. Holds more than you would expect since every inch of space is easily accessible. I brought it to my current apt which had a much more expensive Jenn-Air side-by-side with door dispenser. I got rid of the Jenn-Air and had a pantry built in the extra space next to my fridge.

rob — from your apt. to Loki, take the B63 bus to Atlantic Center, get on the R at Pacific towards Bay Ridge, get out at 9th Street, walk up one block to 5th Ave, then take the B63 bus north to 2nd Street. Loki will be on the corner of 5th Ave and 2nd Street.

huh? that seems overly complicated. im looking for walking directions, not how to get there via public transport. nevermind ill go to mapquest
