  1. Richard Pryor was brilliant. Bill Cosby was too. And Carlin.

I once waded into the middle of a dogfight and yanked them apart. I was walking my neighbor’s dog when a guy came out of his house with his dog. The 2 dogs went for each other and the guy just stood there. Scraps ripped my hand up when he pulled the automatic leash (I didn’t know how to lock it). The other guy didn’t even try to control his dog.

  2. DCB, doesn’t look like a head and shoulders to me. The correction is teensy considering the length and power of the upmove. There are some commodities which look pretty messy to me (i.e. energies) but not gold. AND if this is some kind of mini-move to the down side, we will most likely have a pullback to the early October numbers where the market rallied sharply, i.e. back to just above 1300 dollars when we all started talking about this.

I marked on a little index card on October 4th, the number of 1317 when we were going back and forth. If you get your big leg down on the “head and shoulders” that is where it is going. This is unless peace breaks out, we figure out how to balance our budget, the dollar rallies, the tea party and the lefties hold hands and sing “Kumbaya, let’s solve our problems together”.

  3. dona — had to separate a fight on the basketball court a year or so ago. There’s an old Richard Pryor routine about playground taunts where his friend was getting into it with a much bigger, meaner kid, and his friends, fearing for his safety, physically restrained him from a fight. Relying on the safety of being restrained, the kid then started taunting the bully about the way he would smack him around if only the friends would let him. Talked some serious you-just-don’t-say-that-and-get-away-with-it trash. Then the friends let him go.

I miss the days when stand up comedy was really about good story telling, not just a gimmick and one liners. Pryor, Carlin, Klein were all masters of that. Steve Martin, funny as he was, kind of changed all that.

  4. Warning on Head and Shoulders Patterns:

When this pattern fails, ie no follow through selling, the signal switches to a very powerful bullish indicator.

At this point, no telling how this will develop. Just wanted to make you aware of the whole concept.

  5. Here’s the thing, dona- if someone keeps insulting me and implying I’m stupid, I keep fighting. I don’t give up. I spent too many years giving in to too many people and I’m tired of it. I love political discussions but not the insult fests the OT discussions seem to be.

  6. Slopey, it’s like when you pulled me off the Chillhill guy. That was appreciated then. I was like a kid in a playground punching with windmill arms on that guy.

Did you ever pull kids off one another in a playground in real life when you were a kid?

  7. DeLepp- unfortunately ulcers make certain foods a no-no. Onions being one of them 🙁 And it sounds like a great recipe. I’m checking on Epicurious now- thanks.

Rob- as much as I love vinegar, it was the vinegar on a salad that sent me to the hospital that night in September. Ulcers suck.
