Benson, what title/rank is that IBM dude? that viewpoint is very different than their current value-added services model so the higher rank he is the better odds of that viewpoint being effectuated
I understand that, M4L- but the NVidia chips the Chinese used are those chips. I do share your love for AMD though. Always like them better than intel. I’d love to try those chips though! Now if I can just build my own Cray.
bxgrl, these AMD gpu’s are not what you think. it took AMD till (~3yrs) now to successfully integrate ATI’s graphic tech into their CPU tech to come out with these new fusion GPUs
I love that stuff. when I lived in Binghamton I worked for awhile assembling computer parts for a local company named Ebonex. I just googled them and they are still in business.We did stuff for IBM.
benson, that’s what I thought too when a friend told me to read up on the AMD Fusion GPU’s. beside the energy efficiency diff, GPU’s are multi-taskers vs CPU’s are more serial calc. Market will soon show us if my love for AMD is legit or unfounded – ie those fusion chips just came out for technical reviews now so adaption decision still a few months away.
OK- who is going to buy me that personal supercomputer for Xmas? *crickets* 🙁
Cray Computer up 5.95% today on Benson’s remarks.
Rest of the stock market stinks!

Bxgrl;
Cray is now selling a “Personal Supercomputer”. Can you believe it?? Only $250,000, and it’s all yours.
Got to get back to work. Later folks!
