you aren’t missing, IJ, at all. Now that I won’t be working in Manhattan at a typical office job, I’ll be experiencing more of NewYork.

ishtar, certainly the 167 who will be let go will. The greediness and small mindedness of the union management is reprehensible and it seems to be pervasive throughout ALL unions.

The unions probably think they are calling the bluff of management/mayors/governors/etc and that will continue to backfire. Christie and now Booker are the role models for this. GOOD FOR THEM!!!! They need to be more vocal and lay this at the feet of the unions.

I’ll always remember Newark fondly. My Mom, who grew up there, once took my brother and I to a little neighborhood Italian bakery there when we about 3-4. She bought cupcakes, and to this day, I can remember how fresh the cupcake was, and how buttery and sweet the icing tasted. I haven’t had a better cupcake since.

I imagine the heads of the police union will be out of jobs themselves when their constituents realize how they’ve been thrown under a bus. Stupid and shortsighted.

I wouldn’t be surprised if many officers disagreed with what the union did.
