I was scanning some midtown Manhattan listings to see what’s avail and see how are the prices and to my surprise, they’re down decent $$$ since I last eyed them over 7 months ago. Brownstone BK is looking very strong in comparison
that’s because premo high end, and even regular office space is shifting to downtown manhattan away from midtown. there was a huge article about this phenomenon in the observer a few weeks ago.
Blurb from Raymond James on Chavez’ running of PDVSA.
They do not even look for adjectives……..
Here’s how it starts…..
Muchos Problemas: Can Venezuelan Oil Industry Survive Another Decade of Chavez?
In September, as he was visiting New York (thankfully no “sulfur†speeches this time), Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez noted what a waste of time U.N. summits are. That’s one point we can agree on. Here’s an argument where we won’t be finding much common ground, however: Analyzing oil production forecasts from PdVSA, Venezuela’s national oil company, is an even bigger waste of time for as long as Chavez is in power. In case you haven’t heard, PdVSA’s official target is to more than double production
by 2015 (to ~5 MMbpd), and grow further by 2020 (to ~6.5 MMbpd). In our Stat published on September 7, we debunked an analogous fairy-tale forecast (10+ MMbpd by 2016) from Iraq, and today we do the same for Venezuela. Sorry, Hugo, but don’t send Castro that billion-dollar check just yet. If Chavez continues to run PdVSA into the ground – as he has been doing non-stop for the past 12 years – the only real question is, how soon before Venezuela starts to import oil?
