11217 – the holiday party is Dec. 9 – location tbd. Snappy and Cobble are organizing a toy drive to accompany the event so even if you wish to remain anonymous, you should still try to get a toy to them to support the kiddies over in Red Hook.
“dont think they need or should have to extend the time limit for unemployment, it’s already like what 99 weeks? if you can’t find a job in 99 weeks than youre probably just unemployable to begin with.”
Rob, that’s utter bs. Most of the unemployed people I know are all highly educated, very motivated, and hate collecting unemployment. But they cannot find a job. This was a lifeline for them, and I can’t believe those self righteous a-holes in Congress wouldn’t pass this.
You’ve been pissy about everything all day, but this one I have to comment on. You have no idea what you are talking about, as usual. Just count yourself lucky your company still thinks you are useful, and you’re not out there pounding the pavement like millions of other people. And no, I’m not on unemployment, as my last job was as a consultant and I don’t qualify. But it sure would have come in handy, and I’m pissed for everyone who is going to suffer, and right before a cold winter too. Nice going, compassionate conservatives.
Gem, lots of people in the Slope work from home. Tons, actually. I’ve started doing the same on a part time basis as well, so perhaps you’ve seen me at Snice for lunch. 🙂

You’re right, Rob. Women with small children should hide in their homes until the kids go off to college. Coffee! In public! With children! OMG!
that’s not the point i was making. it’s just that there was what looked like 100 of them. excuse me but 100 white women with 100 babies is as terrifying to me as 100 teenagers with guns might be to other people. so dial down your snobble watch, cobble i aint in the mood
Rob – well I ALWAYS guess right when I play penny arcade, so the little girl doesn’t bother me.
Also – I am amazed at all the unemployed/non-working/odd job having PEOPLE in Park Slope. I went to Snice the other day at like 2pm – the place was PACKED with folks – yes moms with babies, but like men and women of all ages having lunch. Like don’t they have regular jobs in an office in the city? OR what?

Please do tell us more about your non-point, Rob.

When’s the next shindig, Jessi?
” they all looked about as vapid as a tucks medicated pad”
As opposed to all the “deep thinking” you do, day in, day out.
I bet they were talking about something more interesting than the TD bank Penny Arcade cartoon girl.
