  1. “You’re on the OT from jury duty? Is that an OT first?”

Slopester, I posted from Jury Duty in August. They have terminals set up in the back of the room, but they don’t give you a lot of time.

  2. slope –

I thought so, too – that is what happened the other two times I have been called. This time I postponed 3-4 times, and the notice said ***MUST SERVE*** on the front. No more excuses for the lackey citizen.

Not sure they’re making an example of me, though – think I heard they changed the procedure/rules this year.

  3. BH — You’re on the OT from jury duty? Is that an OT first? ANd are you in Kings County Surpeme? Why are you there a second day if you were released from a panel? You should be going home.

  4. Thanks, jackal. One of these days we’ll figure out how to turn the vagaries of Godwin’s law into a lucrative practice area. You see the New Yorker cartoon last week of the dog-faced lawyer who specializes in the “leash law”? There’s also a series of cartoons a decade or so back called “Lawyers for Kids” or something like that. I remember the “backsies exception to the no frontsies rule.”
