  1. I have a 212 cell #. All you have to do is ask for one. When I got my phone, I was asked if I wanted 212, 718, 347, 646 or the traditional 917. For business purposes I took the 212.

  2. Kids need boundaries. You say NO, you have to mean no, they have to know you mean no and once you get past that, you get much less testing. I love to see parents stop kids when they are being impossible. Kids who are disciplined and develop consciences, social awareness, respect etc. get much better treatment all their life from the world around them. Like the little kid who is respectful of the adults in their life and gets solicitious and affectionate treatment in response. Nobody likes a brat, age 5 or age 35.

    Every kid is different. Regarding the examples 1910 gave and I gave, I think both of us were referencing situations where the parent actually did things to get the kid wound up and then yelled at the kid when he got wound up. that’s the same thing as if you want the kid to go to sleep, don’t play a game of tackle 10 minutes before bedtime.
