I took Botany once because I thought it would be an easy A.

I ended up dropping the class because I simply could not
get a good grade in this class.
All the tests were essay format and involved questions like,
A bullet enters a tree during the Civil War, write an analysis of where the bullet is most likely to lodge and it’s course through the next 100 years of tree growth.
WTF?
Biology is an ever-changing subject. In fields like genetics and Immunology, the textbooks are all out-of-date within a year. In those two courses, we used ttextbooks for the basics but the scholarly journals for the cutting edge work. I remember having to read some of those papers 2-3 times before I really understood them.
geography a rare major around here. More popular in midwest
(most of the profs studied in Ohio or some such place).
Quite a few fellow majors went into urban planning/policy.
if I study a fluff subject can I get a job as a fluffer?
