  1. Denton, you as a cashier don’t have any more information than somebody hanging around the store watching the activity in the store. You might work around the corner and go into the store on your lunch hours and notice the activity, the increase of staff, the long lines at the cash register. You have a little more information as a cashier, but not enough to know about the financial condition of the entire enterprise.

  2. I’m a cashier in Macy’s. I’m young and ambitious nevertheless. I want to get promoted and do well, so I buy the WSJ every day to learn about business.

Lately I’ve noticed things seem busier in the store. Not only are they busier but seems like people are buying more expensive stuff. I’ve also noticed that my supervisor, who seemed worried about getting laid off, is happier.

I wonder if Macys is doing better than expected all of a sudden. I know earnings are reported every quarter. My mom plays lotto, this month she’s gonna give me the $250 she plays, and I’m going to put in $250.

And I’m going to go to this Chuck guy I see on TV and open up a brokerage account. The WSJ just had an article about options, and with what I’ve been able to learn on the internet, I think I know which ones to buy.

Cashier buys call options, triples his money when Macys blows away quarterly earnings.

    Insider trading?

  3. “no thanks to liberals who would dismantle it in a minute if they could.

-President Obama, ever the liberal, apparently doesn’t believe that debt is a problem. Probably because he never created a job in his life and has gone through his entire adult life on the good graces of private sector tax dollars.”

Legion, could you please give it a rest? None of that is true, and it’s really getting tired. The world is very complicated, and the decisions of government for the last 50 years all go into shaping where we are now. The liberal bashing is just false, ignorant, and tiresome. Please stop just quoting as gospel Faux News or some rightwing think tank website.

  4. can someone tell me if this is real or legit cuz i have a ghetto phone that eats minutes like oprah eats chips ahoy and i cant be asked to be wasting money and time with sales call on a cell line.

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER…. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

…. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

  5. Legion, the Pentagon didn’t say it has no clue. A Navy guy said there were no Navy operations in the area.

No way, just absolutely no way in hell, would China even consider doing that. A Chinese military officer who seriously proposed that would have a very short career. It would be one of the most dangerously stupid things they could possible do. I can pretty much absolutely guarantee to you that under no circumstances was that an act sancioned by the Chinese government.

  6. lol dave i just saw your comments in the section 8 thread on citidate. i refuse to register for that message board. i usually get banned from message boards in general anyway so it’s a waste of time

  7. “The foreigners in the room did not like QE2, not one little bit. A smart American asked one of the foreigners what exactly he would have Mr Bernanke do, and then mocked the foreigner’s lack of a real answer.”

So it WAS like a day in the OT!!!!!
