etson, thanks for turning me on to that ‘Night of the Living Fed’ article. Not much to disagree with. One tidbit that I found interesting was this:
“13) This increment of employment probably masked a structural increase in unemployment between 2002 and 2007,
which was likely caused by global trade developments. With the housing bust, construction fell below normal and
revealed this large increment in structural unemployment. Since these particular jobs may not come back, even in
10 years, this problem may call for retraining or special incentives.”
‘Global Trade Developments’ euphemism for China.
Especially when I came across the same sentiment from Paul Tudor Jones expressed slightly differently. He points out we have lost 6 million mfg jobs in this recession. Had they not been lost, unemployment would be about 5% right now.

here is the last painting i did, but this was like 4 years ago!!! i havent painted since! (except for walls and stuff) grrr, but i want to get back into it.
Denton, Rob probably paid his student loan, didn’t sell his metrocard, held doors open for a stroller mom, and did some long term financial planning too
