So glad I wasn’t around for the political aspect of this discussion. It was like swimming in raw sewage.
Not around for one now. If Republicans take over one or both houses, I’m just going to sit back and see how fast they think they can “fix” things. If it wasn’t for the misery they will cause the rest of us, it would be entertaining.
Newsflash, it didn’t break in a year, two years, four years, it took over 8 years to rack up record deficits and spending, added to wars and not watching the financial store. Obama never said it was a quick fix, but Rush and the Republicans were asking him what was taking so long two weeks after the inauguration, and haven’t stopped since. They never cooperated with him, and wasted valuable time obfuscating and worrying about whether or not he was born here. Now, after 2 years, he’s damned for not being able to have the country at full employment, with money in the national coffers, peace on earth. Like he was Zeus who waves his hand over the land, and it is healed. NOT!
The question remains, newly elected Republicans and tea partiers – what have YOU got? Cause anger and complaining is not a governing strategy, and being pissed off never paid the rent for anyone, or gave them a job. Where are the plans and the programs? What are you going to cut, and from whom? Where are you going to raise the money for the deficit, while providing all of the social programs everyone, including their consitituents, wants? While cutting taxes? Gonna bring the troops home? Like all of them, home, now? Gonna dump health care, but keep Medicaid and Social Security as is? Or worry about whether or not gays can get married or become soldiers? At what point do the rich guys behind the movement start telling you what THEY want? And believe me, it’s not what you want. Should be interesting. I just hope I survive it.
Those dancers, the flowers in her hair, all of it! She’s the definition of a person who never had anything nice growing up. They tend to do the most when they get a little extra money.
She’s not ashamed of his white side. She’s going to take every chance she can to bring up his “whiteness”. You won’t find too many blacks questioning what that ex-con is. He looks like any old regular light skinneded (ha ha ha)black person who hasn’t seen a drop of white blood since massa was sneaking into the slave quarters.
“Following last night’s Rangers game, during overnight maintenance of Madison Square Garden, which included cleaning asbestos-related materials in the attic above the ceiling, some debris fell into the Arena.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are postponing tonight’s Knicks v. Magic game. We will be working with the city and independent experts, ATC Associates and GCI Environmental Advisory, to evaluate and determine the most appropriate course of action. As the safety of our customers and employees are our top priority, we will not reopen the Garden until we are absolutely assured the Arena is safe.”

“I needed a new interview outfit for Thursday’s big interview!”
Ha nothing like an excuse to buy new clothes! You really are one of those expensive women!
Denton – tke that back! the problem with my wardrobe for working at a record label for 12 years is that most of my clothes are jeans/boots/sweaters
I do not own a suit or even a pair of shoes so yes I had to upgrade to a better interview outfit as my only interview outfit was a summer one!
Lech, talking is the bigger problem – no one has anything new to say.

“and God forbid blog posts . . . almost all of it utterly useless”
Except, of course, our Brownstoner OT posts, worthy of preservation (after translation into all known languages) for eternity.
Here’s an lol…

I read those comments, CGar. Just you wait. Payback time.
lechacal’s 4:31 post is very ironic; considering his posts.
I find it hard to believe that lightning never struck a dead tree before there was language.
