Benson, are you running for office, or something? Because whenever you spout one of your moralistic diatribes accusing Democrats and liberals of not being good and proper Americans, I start to see you on stage, chin in the air, looking noble, with a flag waving in the background, fireworks bursting in air, and strains of the Star Spangled Banner wafting across the windswept plain. Give it a rest.
I always thought America was strong enough, and big enough, to represent all kinds of thought. Patriotism is more than just flag waving, a lapel pin, and thoughts that your country is never wrong. I’m just as patriotic as you are, or Sara Palin, Glenn Beck, Shelby Steele, or anyone else. You, and they, have no right to imply otherwise. Not about me, or anyone else. If you ask me, the best patriots we’ve got are those putting their lives in danger in the armed forces. I went through the house with the Engineer yesterday afternoon. It seems that the renovation was done at the low end of amateur. Certainly no licensed contractors involved. The owner possibly ignored the DOB bureaucracy altogether.
And then covered up all the obvious signs of problems. Kudos to Richard Perry, the Engineer, for seeing right through all the BS.
I also noticed again what a beautiful house this really is. Too bad it’s a redo. Or perhaps they will find someone foolish enough to not get an inspection.

Shelby Steele is hardly an objective analyst of American politics so I see no real sense in reading his latest diatribe. It’ll just be more of the same thing he’s said before- and which I disagree with. YOu must be kidding. You have it so assbackwards. Ask yourself who starts these political discussions nearly everyday? And always with insults to liberals or Dems. And don’t kid yourself- he is all tea party all the time.
