  1. Speaking of books, anyone read ‘Freedom’? I see it’s in its sixth printing even tho the first printing was huge.

Also, ‘Room’. One of the weirdest, wildest, best books I’ve read in a long time. It shoulda won the Man Booker, but didn’t.

  2. rob– gourmet tampons? LOL!!!! Hmmm…….. 😉

Gem- I’ll check that out. I had a long tlak with a man who has given me freelance work over the years and he is going to talk to some people. He feels with my line of work freelance is a better option for me. I’m not near to retiring but I never thought I would stop working in any case. I love working- one way or another. I saw retirees in my parents generation grow old once they retired. The ones who did best were the ones who loved to work and never stopped. My aunt died at 94- still working as a travel agent. My father kept involved in the garment industry with his friends in Florida. They loved what they did and although he played golf- very badly- he loved the industry.

  3. denton – Yeah, that story is amazing! She was one of the first kids to get a Times scholarship. She lived on a subway but managed to eat & do her homework & so on. Really a stunning accomplishment.

  4. “denton- don’t know what to tell you. Everyplace I ever worked out took out unempl;oyment to go in part toward it. I know the employer paid part of it too”

Well then, like I said, you wuz robbed. Or perhaps you’re confusing it with NYS Disability insurance.

  5. “Yeah DH but no one likes a loser. ”

yeah – for sure. you definitely nailed it though about not being able to buy a team. baseball isn’t one of those sports where you can have 2 great players and dominate.
