I still think the employment tax should be temporarily lifted. It would be a real boom to the economy. It would definitely strat the process of job creation.
“The 99ers story was enough to make anyone, including Jedi Warriors at The Death Star, thank their lucky stars for being employed.”
And well you should.
Gem, I warned you. But really I think everyone, from CEOs/Senators/you name it on down should watch it. I think for a lot of people this recession is an intellectual exercise and not something they really “grok”. That piece was great, and I think more people should be speaking up about and saying what’s really going on.
Oh, and here’s a big EF YOU to anyone who thinks unemployment—that all those people, who played by the rules and got f*cked, paid into—shouldn’t be extended.
You have to remember that fat people’s clothing takes up more room. I was restricted on amount of luggage on corporate jets & could fit 2 weeks business attire in one roll-on. One client of mine needed a roll-on just for underwear because her stuff used so much fabric. We’d ship her wardrobe ahead w/ convention equipment (& full carnet internationally.)
DH – our bill I think was $350 a month in the winter for electric and the bathrooms were cold!
CH – yes that upset me too people who are college educated making $100K+ a year and then get laid off and have used up their retirements and have to sell their homes etc
it did hurt to watch that – true
Biff – totally I was thinking that too that the last few episodes of 60 minutes has involved some US military story in the middle east or a story on terrorism

How about the stereotypes of the day:
Nationalities that are overall pretty cool actually:
1. Italians
2. Kiwis (New Zealanders)
3. Colombians
4. Polacks
5. Czechs
Nationalities that tend to be kind of annoying:
1. Argentines
2. Koreans
3. Russians
4. Germans
5. Singaporeans
Jury still out, could go either way:
1. The English
2. The French
3. Canadians
4. Chinese
5. Scandanavians
You could probably fit 2 weeks of your business attire in one set of her underwear, Arkady!

“Also, you’d lose a ton of time waiting for checked bags to appear.”
