I agree Dona, however I love living in Park Slope and while I laugh at all the peeps that make fun of it – there’s so much about the nabe that is so great I would never want to really leave
that being said I will never ever ever move to Manhattan – yuck! I feel bad for people who choose to live there. I hate soho/midtown/times square/UES. I do however really like being way down by battery park and that area and I like the UWS
I was in Soho the other day – getting a haircut – and I had an epiphany. I don’t like Soho. In fact, thinking about that made me realize how much I have changed. I would never live in Manhattan (except maybe Washington Heights/Inwood) and if I were to leave where I live now, I would move to Northern Manhattan, Northern Staten Island (historic district), some NYC water place like City island, or Queens. I walked from Spring #6 to Prince and W Broadway, weaving through thousands of extremely fashionably obnoxious pedestrians and street venders and people with maps and guide books. Awful.
I had a flash of what our neighborhood (eastern Ft. Greene – two blocks away from M4L) might be at the end of the summer. While I like the improvement of retail services, I am not as enthusiastic about Ft. Greene/Clinton Hill becoming another Park Slope. No thanks.
Pasty Brit!
(And that’s a compliment)
and donatella makes a lot of spelling errors.

Gem, no offense, but you make an awful lot of generalizations about eithnicity and race…..
“My husband says “clinton Hills” – I think Black folks like to add letters to words that don’t belong like I know many black folks say”
i’ve asked about this before because it seems most old timers (black and white) call the nabe clinton hills.
BH – that was a white person for sure 🙂
Ishtar -haaaaaa “Ursher”

Go away, arrivistas. Leave me alone.
“i dont think it matters that most of them dont wear helmets”
Call me a big softy but I’d rather they didn’t die when someone hits them, as a lot of them seem to be inviting.
Rob, if that’s your cup of coffee, please try to move to BK Heights – ie be on look out for cheap rent. you’ll have lots to complain about
