“My husband says “clinton Hills” – I think Black folks like to add letters to words that don’t belong like I know many black folks say”

i’ve asked about this before because it seems most old timers (black and white) call the nabe clinton hills”

DH – again are you suggesting I am 82?

  2. donatella, no way. northenn manhattan is gross and so far from everything. i would love to live in tribeca or hells kitchen. granted the family vibe of tribeca is totally lame and suburban but i like the bleakness of the area, same with hells kitchen. i agree about soho. it really makes me.. what’s the word, high strung? no… agitated i guess which is why i loooooove going back home to park slope cuz it’s so chill.

    *rob*

  3. if i had to live in manhattan again i’d probably stick to the lower east side (but south of delancey and east of allen and north of canal – anything else is awful) Problem is I’m totally done living in crappy 5th floor walk up tenements.

  4. Dona – I do, I know that – I do it as it’s part of my nature. I am curious and love people and I just notice things about folks and I throw it out there – mainly for discussion, but I hope I do it in humor and not offensively! Anyone that knows me knows exactly where I am coming from with my statements – but if it offends anyone here I can certainly cut it out!

Like I said when we all had that sorta open convo a few weeks back on race, I think if people were a bit more comfortable with each other and felt more free to say things, then you learn things from others – I have learned a lot and have been corrected quite a few times here on the OT – I like that openess!

  5. just poking in for a minute. have to go to gym in few minutes.
Wanted DIBS to know I ventured to downtown Albania this morning to file my papers to get on the gravy train. Felt like applying for welfare (and I deserve it!).
Some nice townhouse blocks near downtown….I bet much cheaper than Brooklyn.

amen sister. i have to be in that hell hole 5+ days a week and i really can’t stand it. just way too crowded and full of pretty useless retail (for a residential neighborhood) – that said, it is a pretty nice strip mall.

i love the cast iron architecture though, and it is pretty great in the morning (around 8am) when no one is on the street and the streets are super sunny.
