remember DIBS, the majority of republicans and especially T.P. types were against that bailout.

well, I certainly wasn’t and that’s all that matters.

  2. it’s not that they all are coming with money, it’s the fact the sheer NUMBER of them that is causing rents to sky rocket. they also keep salaries low. people on the hog farm aren’t used to getting paid very much.

  3. Morning, DIBS, and may I be the first today to say RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH! Oh wait, I’m a landlord. Sorry, I take it back.

Yes, DIBS, TARP really did what it was supposed to do. Stabilize financial system with a temporary infusion and then slowly repay the taxpayers. Bush and a congressional majority made up largely of democrats did the unpopular but correct thing. A large caucus of house republicans nearly blew up the deal when they marched in opposition and barged in on Bush’s summit with congressional leaders. Markets freaked when they did that. McCain could not articulate which side of the dispute he was on. Lots of candidates emerging from tea party movement have made anti-TARP a positions a centerpiece of their campaigns and have taken out republican incumbents in primaries in part based TARP vote. I shudder to think of what would have happened to the economy if these folks held sway in September 2008.
