  1. ditto, it’s not on the regular Food Network. There was a new one that started a few months ago but I don’t see it on my iO Cablevision. I get it in Philly on DirecTV.

  2. Oliver Cromwell did a pretty good job of persecuting Catholics. Ok, this is not exactly modern history and he himself didn’t get to complete his reign of terror when the “Restoration” occurred but he did a pretty good job at actively persecuting Catholics — the least of which included purloining cathedrals, destroying ecclessiastical art, including statues, stained glass, and generally running Catholics out. Subsequent Penal Laws prohibited Catholic education throughout the 18th Century and led to the creation of Hedge Schools, which were created by local educated men in houses, barns, beginnings of a Catholic school system. Churches could only be so large. Other forms of persecution were related to limitations on property ownership, size of churches.
The Penal Laws were finally revoked in the 1820s I think with OConnell.

I can’t believe I swore I was not going to OT-icide my work day!!!!

  3. “I’m putting cream cheese in with my ricotta cheese to make it creamier, benson!!”

    You asked for it.

besides, if you used good ricotta, it’d be creamier than cream cheese. But what does a WASP know from good ricotta???

  4. “and just barf-o-rama at the thought of you asking if it’s okay to use expired ingredients in your concoctions. perhaps you should open a food truck.”

    My laugh of the day.
