“brought back some very unpleasant memories”
9/11 bxgrl. I woke up to that acrid smell in my apartment, and turned on the news so at least I knew what it was. Took the dog out and, aside from the smell, there was smoke in the air. The only thing missing was Hiroshima-like-ash. My first thought was that it was exactly like the first few days after 9/11.
I just had a ton of phlegm in my throat and started coughing. Halfway through, I came to the horrible realization that I now have one of those old man / dad coughs. I think the guy next to me was ready to call 911.
No showtunes for me, but I did sense a bit of a scene around there. Funny neighborhood, DIBS. Hustler scene mixted with these venerable old arts clubs — Sketch Club, Plastic Club — in historic buildings and quaint ye olde townehouses.
Hey Pete- the smell kept us up that night too. Both MM and I thought the house was on fire, the odor was so strong. And it kept waking me up throughout the night- brought back some very unpleasant memories.
Uh denton, ETN is a pretty broad category. That’s like saying you heard that stocks are pretty good things to buy and wanted to buy some for yourself so you typed in “stk” and bought some shares of Columbia Seligman Premium Tech**
**I totally just looked up the ticker, didn’t know it off the top of my head
