That’s ridiculous. This City/State is in an ever increasing financial bind and what’s the reason they won’t increase the prop tax on brownstones and other underpaying homes???
Most city council folks own 1-3 families which are assessed at 6% vs 45% for coops/condos.
My parents got involved in my education sometimes. This one time when I was in 7th grade my dad got called in to the school because I called the health teacher a fudge packer. Thing is I had no idea what that meant, it was just something everyone was calling each other. Turns out the health teacher was gay. :-/ I actually feel bad about it now that I think of it.

DeLepp, that’s high! Don’t some brownstones pay less than that???
yeah people with brownstones pay like nothing in taxes. the reason is cuz brownstones used to be for poor people and coops and condos used to be for rich people. but now poor people cant really afford to live in brownstones anymore, yet the taxes havent risen up. and before anyone flaps their lips about the history of brownstones, im talking post 1970’s here.
today is my last day on brownstoner. im giving notice.

Weather prediction more than 4-5 days is totally unreliable.
45%???? WTF
Dave, and how much to the taxes rise each year on a condo? Will the brownstone taxes ever catch up?
