This isn’t an emergency. It’s an election.”

You’re fighting the hypo. I assume the answer is yes, you would. I’m just trying to establish that some issues are more important than others. I don’t expect you to have the same issues hierarchy that I do, but surely you can agree that we seldom get to choose to support all of our issues once, and in fact sometimes can only support some only at the expense of others. Just saying “paladino said something anti-gay, I couldn’t possibly vote for him” seems disingenuous to me. I think what is really going on in most instances is that people already don’t like him for some other reason and the anti-gay remarks gives them something further to point to as support for a decision they have already made. And that’s not to say it’s not a legitimate concern, just that it’s so much more complicated than the kind of smiplistic public debate you usually see would suggest.

All I can really say is what I said before: I disagree with what he has said about gays, I support gay marriage, but I’m not prepared to be a single issue voter on this issue.

I continue to not know what his platform is beyong this.

  2. Lech – actually I like to fight – I’m Irish afterall – we do it best
but you have a point – I think the OT is a place where people just go at it b/c well it’s the internet and we all aren’t best friends forever….

  3. “it’s more about finances and getting the over leveraged entitlement issues back in line so future generations aren’t going to pay forever.”

Except for corporate welfare entitlements, of course.
