Thanks to bxgrl, cmu, rf, and anyone else who’s got my back – no worries; their name-calling only is of a level with the “I’m rubber, you’re glue” response that immediately comes to mind. I gotta admit, I did laugh at shrill, though!
I think the bus thing was an SBS (select bus service) trial – they already have it on one line in the Bronx and it’s going to be coming to the B44 in Brooklyn. I can’t wait – not only will it go up Rogers instead of NY (and thus closer to my house) it will hopefully relieve some of the “schleppiness” of that line, whereby they only travel in packs of three or more at present.
Is the 2nd avenue line only from lower manhattan to like 125?
Where do you want it to go?? Ronkonkoma?????
How about BROOKLYN? There are vast swaths of Brooklyn that are “2 fare” zones. Same with the Bronx and Queens. These are all in areas with people who most need public transportation options. I agree that Manhattan is overcrowded on the 4/5/6, and a 2nd Ave line is needed. I DON’T agree that it should begin and end in Manhattan.
there you go again bxgrl misrepresenting
the statements I make.
you’re just angry because I tell it like it is.
you are amusing in your predictablity though.
ditto,
I didn’t see Ataranjuat but
there’s another film with a difficult title that
I would recommend:
UROTSUKIDOJI (legend of the overfiend)Trilogy
a landmark of Japanese Supernatural/Sci-fi/Horror/Erotica
Anime .You’ll have to see it to realize how all these can be mixed into one. Be prepared for visual overload. It was a big influence on the Matrix trilogy.
Apparently there was some trial over the weekend whereby the Lex Ave & 2nd Ave buses used some sort of passes and all the passengers were too stupid to figure it out??? can anyone elaborate????
In my opinion, someone gay voting for an anti-gay espousing candidate makes as much sense as someone black voting for a Klan member. Are we supposed to say, “Oh THAT? His Klan membership is just a hobby, the boys getting together on weekends. It doesn’t affect his governing.”
It doesn’t matter that he can’t change laws. What he can do is promote an anti-gay atmosphere that fosters the brainless among us, and there are an awful lot of them, to think it’s ok to discriminate against gays, it’s ok to deny them equal rights. Further down the line of nutballs, you’ll get those who think it’s perfectly fine to jump gays in the streets, and do worse. Look what’s going on now, in the last couple of weeks, WITHOUT an anti-gay governor. If Paladino, or anyone, anywhere, gets elected with a blatent discriminatory attitude towards any group, you’re going to find even less societal stopgaps towards violence and discrimination.
Sorry, Paladino lovers, but it won’t stop with gays. He’s got opinions on everyone, and he has no filter, he’ll say whatever he thinks. The man sends blatently racist cartoons and emails around, and doesn’t get why people are upset. It’s not politically correct whining, it’s basic decency. I do not want this man in the governor’s office.
Let me tell you Legion, for a real Democrat with balls remember Casey, Sr. in PA. Not like Mario. Don’t even know about Andrew. You describe the ULTIMATE human rights issue. And Daddy wrote that nice paper in the late 80s, which I read over and over. bs. But to start that discussion in earnest……whoa.

What MM said.
I believe I have seen white. Which makes me think about a movie with Jeremy Irons and Binoche in it which was quite good also. Can’t remeber the name.
I would recommend Everything is Illuminated for the comedy of the first half. After that it gets pretty serious, and is still enjoyable.
