  1. ditto…it belonged to the friend of my parents who got me interested in old cars. he had no skills to do any work himself so i painted it for him in between years at B-school.

Unbeknownst to me he sold it in the late 80s/early 90s and I was really pissed off at him because he sold it cheap and i would have bought it.

  2. Actually I read due to the violence in Jamaica that is now targeting seniors returning back home to Jamaica to retire b/c the gangs know they have money – many Jamaicans are thinking twice about retiring in Jamaica

  3. “Biff – were you in brooklyn bridge Park playground with your missus by any chance this weekend?”

Nope. Must have been another nebishy looking schlub with a hot Asian woman and adorable kids.

  4. Ishtar, Jamaicans do the same thing. I know plenty who have quite a lot of property back home, and plan on retiring there, leaving New York winters far behind them. I’ve met them here and in Jamaica.

    ATTENTION:

For all of you who are accostomed to purchasing your weekly drugs at Gowanus Houses, you need to find new suppliers. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

hahaha, I am sure the market will be back next week, 2 weeks at the latest. Like they broke the back of the counterfeiting rings in Chinatown when they shut down the block of Canal between Centre St. and Baxter St. a couple of years ago, Right!

  6. “You can collect your SS no matter where you live. Set up an HSBC USD account and have it deposited there and you can draw on it anywhere in the world.”

Yup. Why do you think so many Caribbeans work here and head back “home” at retirement? They’ve managed to build a nice house with cash and they have their SS money to live on. (I think the only exception is Jamaica. I never hear of anyone moving back to the place.)
