I’m just swooping in here for a second, sorry for the interruption, but I just have to let you know we moved out of the rental and into the downstairs this week.
So we’re only nine months behind schedule, but it’s progress.
If new pickles are the same as half-sour, then, yes, I prefer new or half-sour pickles, nice and crisp, and don’t really like the mushy sour pickles. Of course, you’d know that already if you weren’t pretending that you didn’t get my emails.
Rob, it’s an often documented fact that grocery prices are higher in low income neighborhoods than in more affluent ones. I’m not talking about imported arugula or truffle oil, but the prices for regular grocery items and provisions. Even things like paper goods, pet food, and everything else. On top of that, supermarkets in poor neighborhoods get substandard produce, and are more likely to have expired products.
If you work all day, and come home to feed the kids, you aren’t going to have time to take the bus to Fairway when you live in Bed Stuy. This is not the fault of the consumer. Local markets should play fair, and price gouging should be investigated and stopped. Poverty is a gift that keeps on giving.
Rob, they let poor people in Fairway, but it is hard to get there, i.e. you need a car. It is in an out of the way place which allows them cheaper rent (I guess) and they sell EVERYTHING way way cheaper than neighborhood places. Wow, fresh Doritos. Doritos aren’t even food.
Other non-foods include Cheeze puffs, chips, anything that comes in an aluminum lined bag. “Restaurants” that sell non-foods include Wendys, Burger King and McDonalds.
ooooooh invite me to your chichi dinner party!! snappy invited me over this last weekend cuz she made a gigantic lasagna and now im convinced that black people make better lasagna than the italians!!!

Poor people also pay a lot less in taxes and get subsidized by the middle and upper classes in many ways.
“Does anyone else prefer new pickles?”

New pickles are gross. I like them super sour with a jolly rancher in the center. I also like pickles marinated in Kool-Aid. Red flavor preferred.
I HATE new pickles.
