Not lying at all DIBS – the stuff I said about 11217 was a personal attack. I like to stick to calling people dumbassess when they are being dumbasses. I hate sloppy thinking so I attack it, and I think that’s fair game. Attacking the way someone lives their life is different.
For all those Park Slope moms who roll out of bed in their sweats right into the street to do errands, I suggest a burka — just put over the whole mess. Spare us.
Honestly Blue Ribbon is the best. Oshmima a close 2nd. That’s my opinion. Given that I don’t know anything about Toro though, I can’t really speak to it. Thing is, Oshima is way cheaper than Blue Ribbon although the quality difference is rather small.
You should check out the new Taro Sushi which just opened today on Flatbush. Looks great, and I bet they have Toro. They have only one other location…IN TOKYO!
At one point, I thought Maria Bartiromo was beautiful, a young Italian American Sophia Loren. I don’t know what it is (weight?) but agree, she doesn’t look so good. Plus she has a horrible voice, the worst of Brooklyn when she is not paying attention, loud and nasal. But she also affects this Connecticut lockjaw or is it a Texas “s” which sounds like “sh” which I have seen other women do and it irks me. Very pretentious.
Erin Burnett in contrast is a spitfire. She is so bright and funny and full of energy, that I think she is a star.
She is also the kind of woman who can radiate intelligence and respect on a trading floor but be beloved by the boys at the same time.
Kens, if I have a chance I’ll drive over there and check out the alt side times/days by the Bklyn Children’s Museum. The times change every few blocks here where I live, so it’s not really difficult.

Gem I remember that thread. Someone posted a day later on that thread and got all stroppy with us.
Dreary day on wall street. I blame DIBS’s comments on the OT this morning.
Actually, I had a pretty good day.

prez, I mistyped…cannoli is plural as is manicotti. The singular is cannolo but who orders just one. Manicotti are correctly called cannelloni.
dave, I spelled manicotti wrong and think it is plural with an i.
