Speaking of brit accents, I started reading The Secret Garden to my kids yesterday and a bunch of the dialogue is written in a strong Yorkshire accent. I have to read it super slowly and I get it all wrong. I basically sound like I’m just learning to read. It’s pretty embarrassing. I was outside for a while yesterday reading to them and I’m pretty sure the neighbors were all thinkin “aw, isn’t that darling, those people are letting a retarded man read to their kids.”
MM, lol, I’ll keep that in mind. Not thinking of donating furniture to the Met. I actually want to donate ceramics or art glass, not sure what the right term is — a few antique handpainted Limoges pieces to be precise.
Lechecal, I thought it was the height of irony, but not funny. How fast do those things go, anyway? I would have thought he could have jumped off, unless he didn’t realise how close to the cliff he was, or lost control.
*rob*, I really don’t know why I’m bothering today since you seem to be in an even worse mood than usual, but have you ever been to the Met? Have you ever seen the period rooms that you’re “ewwwwwing” about?
“No, CGar, I haven’t been to the Met. I’d never go to the Met. And if I went to the Met, I’d never go in the period rooms. That’s GOTD. And all the furniture is probably infested with bedbugs. And I don’t have to go to the Met to know I’d hate it, just like I don’t have to go to Europe to know that I hate Europe and Europeans.”

And I can see everything the Met has on the Internet, so why should I go? Besides, I’d probably get lost and end up in that dinosaur place anyway.

dibs – Like Greyfriar’s Bobby.
I really liked the Inspector Lewis episode last night. I like the series a lot, and loved the original Morse stories.
donatella,
doesn’t your TV have closed caption option. Very handy when watching heavy Brit accented stuff. Especially the scottish.
It was on Bloomberg, jackal.
