  1. I like the idea of limited lifespan pets. They would be the same furry, loveable little things you are used to, but they would be genetically coded to die at a very specific time.

You wouldn’t be able to get a pet at all without this feature, so this creature would never be born without it. It comes into this world only because of its limited lifespan.

And the death would be instantaneous and not at all painful. You could even plan for it.

“Darling you know we’re going on vacation in Europe in 10 weeks, so we can only get you a 10 week hampster. Don’t worry, we’ll get you a one-year pet when we ge back.”

  2. “is there some sort of demand for world trade center detritus?! ”

rob- there are times- not many- when you actually say something that makes a tiny bit of sense and then there are those times -far too many – when you expose your colossal ignorance, insensitivity and stupidity.

Those papers are part of the historical record which the museum is building. I realize that might not be a concept you can wrap your mind around, but there it is. Deal with it. And stop trying so hard to be the class clown everyday and every way. It does nothing for you.

  3. “Pete – They’re not serving gourmet foods, they’re supplying nostalgia. Sort of like dining at the Harvard Club.”

the Harvard club does do a very good green sauce for a cold poached salmon that is delicious. I tried to find the recipe online but to no avail. I’m assuming is loaded with herbs, or erbs as the yanks say.
