  1. “”I also have a sneaky suspicion that Lechecal doesn’t believe a word he’s spouting. He just likes to see people get up in arms and upset because it amuses him. ”

smart lady – are we really the only 2 people who get it?”

DH, no disprespect, but I don’t think you do get it because you’ve stopped one step too early in the psychoanalysis.

Trying to estimate when we would be back to south ferry,
and how long the whole ESB takes ( reg tics are about $22,
less for kids and express is close to $50 no matter what age).
No fancy brunch. kids are 8 and 10. And not my family’s style anyway.

  3. Pete, the ESB can be quite a line. One of the saddest things about the WTC is that I took my three nephews when they were kids. Individually. We went as a special outing, went to the top, ate junk food, crushed pennies and had our picture taken together.

After 9-11, one by one, they asked me to take them to the ESB too, “before they blew that one up too”. Heartbreaking. We went. I remember waiting a long time on line to do that.

  4. Gem, I could see the plane’s rear lights going over Park Slope from my window. I must have heard two fighter jets, because the first one literally screamed overhead, causing me to go to the window. The sound faded away, and then the second one went by, which is the one I saw, but I only saw the tail lights, and that was through my window screen which further blurred my view. I thought it was a commercial plane circling really low and coming around again to land at LaGuardia. On its heels were 2 helicopters. When all the sound faded and nothing horrible happened, I remembered the UN meeting and the Prez and world leaders in town, and figured that was the cause. It was still pretty scary.
