“I agree- looks great on [paper but unfortunately too many corporations don’t follow through. They send jobs offshore. They pay their CEO’s outrageous amounts of money, and bonuses, and work the system for everything they can. All the while squealing how they are being squeezed. Take Halliburton- billions of dollars in government contracts and what do they do? Move their offices to Dubai to escape US taxes.”
BLAH, BLAH, BLAh…typical line of crap. LARGELY MISINFORMED. HAL is not a Dubai company. It is incorporated in Delware which, the last I looked , wa sin the US and they pay US taxes.
Again, where do you people get your information???????
Send jobs offshore??? Exactly what do you mean??? If you are talking about HAL again, well, the rigs are largely “offshore.”
re; the state psychiatric workers getting paid like Cardiologists.
If you do not see the problem with the fact that you have to pay a psych nurse 170K a year while a psychiatry resident ( a doctor) gets paid 50K a year for the same hours, you are not getting it.
On the way to the Yankee game last night, there was this young kid/man, skinny, cute, hyper, chatting excitedly to the man next to him. He was wearing neon orange sneakers and speaking about how excited he was to be out of jail.
When he got up to let me sit down, he started talking to me excitedly and I wished him luck. He went to shake my hand, which I took and his hands were all sweaty and GUMMY!!!!
I tried not to touch my face and bought some hand purifier when I got off and wiped off the gummy stuff — my tissues were blackish. God, what we GO THROUGH.
dave- i did. I like his track record- Paladino has no track record. All he’s done is make a lot of outrageous comments, tell us how pissed off he is and offered no solutions other than putting homeless families in facilities and teaching them hygiene. Another ignorant rich guy who thinks poor people are dirty. Go back and reading my answer at 1:23. If you can’t be bothered, stop insisting I haven’t answered- it’s there in black and white.

“You cannot lament the high unemployment rate and view business as the enemy. Businesses create jobs. More business = more jobs. We need pro business, pro innovation policies so we can compete in the global marketplace and drive innovation and new business investment and formation. Pretty basic.”

Until su corporations show some loyalty to the US, all those lovely thoughts will simply remain lovely thought. Like trickle-down economics. Lovely but out of touch with reality.

you are right 🙁
I wouldn’t mind talking about a good recipe for
lasagna.

Halliburton is a US company that pays US taxes.
CEO works out of Dubai but there is no tax effect to that.

“I only come here for the humour”
‘Humour’ can only be supplied by Canadians or Brits, of course!
