  1. Lech, my interesting thoughts for the weekend…

I’m listening to an audiobook, and at one point, an inane conversation at a bar is being described in detail. Someone at the bar is arguing that incest can’t be an abomination to God, because incest was necessary at the point of creation. God only made Adam and Eve. They then acted upon the directive to “be fruitful and multiply.” So if God only created Adam and Eve, and everyone else is their offspring, how was incest avoidable? If it wasn’t avoidable, how is it wrong in religious terms?

(and eff no, I’m not advocating incest. just reporting the convo as described in the book.)

  2. quote:
got some good books a a stoop sale

i hope you microwaved those books. i dont trust people’s “free stuff” on their stoops anymore. unless it’s a giant bag of cash, i dont want their crap.

    *rob*

  3. Interesting, snappy, and similar to what I was saying. For some reason this line of thinking occupied me this weekend. I think it was the horrid hangover and the desire to not be hung over any more, and the realization that without the occasional hangover I can’t fully appreciate the value of a day like yesterday. You have to open up a gap and get perspective on the norm. To a point, obviously.

  4. “Maybe I should get a boom box and play Midnight Train to Georgia and just sing along with the Pips part.”

Whoo wooo…toot toot! I’m gonna be right by his side…Leavin!

    LOL

  5. when I got out of subway last evening after upstate for weekend…Smith St. looked really gross and parkslopey trailerparkish with all the flyers for stoop sales, and whatever everywhere (heavily papered for some music event ).
But awhile later we were eating at Luluc and this guy comes up Smith and is removing them all. I wanted to run out and thank him but he was too quick on his mission.
Really good to see someone take action rather than sit back and complain.
I was wondering why I was rarely seeing the flyers around last couple of months. Now I know.
We need more good citizens like him.

  6. Gee, snappy, my daughter found some glitter in her backpack when we got to school this morning. How’d that happen?? (Also, check out some changes in our garden next time you walk by.)
