“What I Loved” is a truly fantastic novel. I think Hustvedt is actually a better writer than Auster.
“The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao” is also great! Very different from “What I Loved,” with an unusual voice and narrative style that was really fun to read.
I’m in the middle of Jonathan Franzen’s “Freedom” and am enjoying it as well.

Why would I laugh? That book makes you feel your life is not boring, especially when reading about what she thinks is colorful. It’s not bad really.
I read a bit of Steig Larsson this am. There’s like 400 pages to that book, all tiny print. Yikes.
