  1. Annuities can be good and they can be bad depending upon the individual’s needs and the terms. I’m no authority on them but I know enough about them to know that most of them are not good ideas for most people.

Unless someone has a pension (will that be safe in 10-20 years??????) I find a good rule of thumb is that you need to accumulate AT LEAST $700,000 if you want to live on $50,000 a year and be sure of it.

SS will pay most people somewhere between $700 and $2,000 a month depending upon your lifelong earnings stream. Idf you start taking the money before age 65, the amount decreases.

  2. Unsolicited Restaurant Review:

    Nice location on Greenwich Street.
    Not crowded until after 7:00.
Great meal although I ordered medium rare and received a medium well.
A spin off of Peter Luger’s
The space was nice with vaulted ceilings,
warm wood and good spacing between tables.
Not unlike Gustavino’s beneath the 59th Street Bridge,
although this is simply a steak house and I don’t even know if Gustavino’s is still in business since the last
time I was there was 2002.
Best part was the dessert, a simple lemon sorbet
    was perfect.
I’m not that picky though, so I didn’t complain.
Not the type to complain unless there is something blatantly wrong. In which case I would let them know and just leave.

  3. Those insurers are full of shit. They tried to raise rates in Cali by as much as 30% before universal healthcare was a major issue. They’re just using it as one now so they can push their agenda.

Also, I think elected officials should have waited until healthcare self destructed before doing anything about it.
