  1. Jessi, I’m not saying Motherhood is for every woman.
I was never a woman that saw my biological clock ticking. I didn’t want children. I had a career, sorta. I was chasing the big dream of fame and fortune. I was content.
I looked at kids and thought ‘Oh, they’re cute, but thank god I don’t have any.’

It’s a lot of work and my entire day revolves around him, but It truly is a pure joy. I melt when he smiles.

When I was preggo and not sure if I wanted a baby. A ‘friend’ told me – You’ll never regret having kids, but you may regret not having them.

  2. “If someone hears about a SBF in Crown Heights jumping from a building it’s ishtar and it’s because she got pregnant.”

In CH South please. We don’t want our newly landmarked streets messed up here in CHN. 😉

Just kidding- but anyone not terrified when they become pregnant is not normal.

RF- I make do with my twin’s kids. I love them and was there in the birthing room. (Not only did my sister punch her husband during labor, she bit me!) I was unable to have my own.

  3. im gonna say something that a ton of people are not going to want to hear and it’s a bit hush-hush in the scientific community… the real reason so many kids have ridiculous allergies these days is because moms dont drink or smoke during pregnancy anymore.

Probably true. Look at DeLepp and me…we turned out fine. I actually developed allergies and the got rid of them. According to my doctor, my liver is about as healthy as you can have and I’ve got an over-the-top level of HDL!!!!! And all this given the meds and the alcohol!!!!

  4. the brits are such wimps—–>”As you may know, Pope Benedict is making a visit to the UK this week.

In advance of his visit, the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has ordered the removal of a poster ad from Antoio Federici Ice Cream featuring a pregnant nun, the BBC reports:

“Antonio Federici’s advert showed a pregnant nun eating ice cream in a church, together with the strap line ‘immaculately conceived’. The Advertising Standards Authority has ordered it to be discontinued, saying it mocked Roman Catholic beliefs. ”

  5. parksloper is right
about the severity of the nut allergies in
    some kids.
I don’t know how bad this child has it,
but it is aggravating to ignore the
notes written all over the sandwich,
or not know that soy butter is not a nut product.

I never had any allergies as a kid,
I attribute it to eating dirt on occasion,
    as well as laundry detergent.
I have vivid memories of entering A&P and
making a bee line for the detergent aisle
where I would promptly eat some ajax laundry
    detergent.
The doctor told my mom that it was ok.
Looking back it was probably a mild case
of Pica, where my body was making up for
lack of certain minerals. In this case calcium.
