Everyone has connections, rob. Most people just don’t utilize them OR they are connected to the wrong people.
Unlikeable people end up stuck in the mailroom and making post office runs.
Even if a job eventually comes through connections (mine did) you need to still pursue all other avenues to feel like you’re not just sitting around, waiting for something to happen.

Seriously, tell her to hit up night clubs as a hostess or cocktail waitress. My friend made a few grand per week working two nights a week at Scores.

Pete – I saw Fela! I LOVED it and I am not into Bway shows at all – but this was different. the music and dancing is outrageous – I want to go again, but I want to get seats on the main floor this time to feel more a part of it
I’ve been casually looking for a new gig as well and have had the same experiences as everyone else. There’s stuff out there – but the salaries are disappointing.
if most jobs come from connections then what do people do who have no connections? what about unlikeable people? are they doomed to be chronically unemployed?
