This city isn’t for losers who can’t compete. It’s ALL ABOUT competition here. If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere. If you can’t, then move back to NJ or wherever you’re from.
Pete, your explanation of the media’s handling of the Koran-burning story is a bit simplistic, if somewhat accurate. The Times has a very good look into how the media, timing and pure luck spun this into a global story: http://tinyurl.com/2enotqo
The administration had the opportunity to stimulate the economy by cutting the payroll taxes at the outset and they blew it. There’s no way they can do that now without serious problems with the budget. They let the problems get too big.
Trust me, if people weren’t paying payroll taxes for a year or two, there’d be a much stronger economy in the form of personal consumption.
A jobs plan? Why should he have one? I get really annoyed when politians claim they can really create jobs. They can’t. Let the market to it’s job and keep meddling to a minimum.
“If I were some of you guys – I would sell my home and move to the middle of no where in Italy or France and just sit around all day, drink espresso, smoke cigarettes and then switch to wine around 5pm.”
Starting to think more seriously about this!!!! Middle of nowhere would be PA or MA though. 🙁
“He said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, as usual.” –

“I get really annoyed when politians claim they can really create jobs. They can’t.”

“just sit around all day, drink espresso, smoke cigarettes and then switch to wine around 5pm.”
Sounds good for maybe a week or two (apart from the espresso and cigarettes). Would get boring after that.
