Of course, Kate didn’t say anything in public about Meryl – she’s too smart about that. It was supposedly a whispering campaign to the effect that it was “her turn”, and that Streep had had her day already.
Hey, I’m not trying to put down Kate – to each his own. I can’t believe that I’m writing anything about this matter at all. As I just wrote to Rob, I tend not to take anything in Hollywood too seriously.
I hate flea markets.
Rob: for the record, I am not a fan of any Hollywood actor or actress. I like movies alot, but am not going to inject any energy into being a “fan”. I find that most Hollywood types don’t know when it is time to just do what they do – act – and leave it there. David Nivens once made one of the most elegant Oscar acceptance speeches when he said that he apologized for any time he may have been prone to the actor’s disease and not known when the show was over, and it was time to get off the stage.

Benson: I didn’t watch the Baba Wawa interviews, did Kate say something mean about fellow diva Streep? That’s what makes ratings y’know. I think Winslett is too much a pro, and a Brit, to say anything bitchy in public.

Would be afraid that some of the regulars would see me with some tarty boy toy in tow and then the next day there’d be all these bitchy comments about what we were wearing and what our hair looked like!!!!
