  1. I think dress codes at work is SO STUPID! unless you have to meet a client or something then sure fine, whatever wear a suit or dress – but if you spent most of your day in your office or amongst your department folks why oh why do you HAVE to dress up?
that’s one thing I miss about working at my old job was it was totally casual!

  2. MM, I agree with you re postal uniforms. I’d like people to be a little more dressed up in the corporate world too.

Legion, re in flight service, what you describe seems like a little thing, but I think there should be a little bubble of protected space around a passenger even coach. The aggravation a flyer has to go though is enough getting onto the plane, all I want is to be left alone and have the chance to calm down once I get on the plane. My internal reaction to assisting with the “beverage service” would be “Buzz off” though I would probably pass the ice down rather than disturb myself even more. I certainly hope that doesn’t catch on.

  3. Legion- I am hardly s socialist, any more than you are a fascist. Although keep up the outlandish posts and I will revise that opinion. You need to stop worrying about “old foreign” dudes having the same rights you do. I know you hate that but there it is. how he and a guy with low-hanging pants who are simply doing their jobs offends you is beyond my ken.

But I guess it’s ok for you to be the clothes and furriner-nazi? As I said- your paranoia is so 1950’s. I’m much more worried about the glenbeckians like you who are really out to create a christofascist state.

I do think we’ve gone too far with Casual Workday in some cases. What’s wrong with postal workers wearing their uniforms?

totally. also this is going to sound TOTALLY ridiculous perhaps, but seeing people in their uniforms on the street working gives neighborhoods a safer more functionally cohesive feel to it.

    *rob*

  5. One of the best things about my job is that we don’t really have a dress code as long as you don’t look like a slob, anything goes. I don’t miss pants, shirts and shoes uniform at all.
