  1. “When I return to work at The Death Star, I’ll be on the trading floor, so not sure how prolifically I’ll be posting after this week.”

Biff, sad to say, sitting at a desk on a traading floor has been bad for my post count.

    “christofascist state???????”

    dibs,
    exactly,
me thinks she doth protest too much.

    bxgrl, hint
    the crusades are over,
most of Northern Europe is moving away from the Church.
you seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on
    the Christians for some reason.
I don’t think it’s because you are bigoted,
I think it’s because they are a convenient and politically correct mark for your innate anger. a sort of projection on your part.
    …that’ll be $150 dollars please.

    as far as the uniforms,
what’s wrong with wearing a uniform?
Fed-ex wears them and so does UPS.
I call it as I see it,
there’s an old foreign dude who mumbles obsenities and glares at legiondog when he delivers the mail.
there’s a young dude with headphones and his pants down to his ankles who delivers the mail on occasion too.
    it is what it is.

try this one, next time you go to the doctor,
picture him with his pants down to his ankles examining you.
then try to take him seriously.
    😉

  3. Re: dress codes, I think it depends on what you do. My last job I rarely met the public, and spent much of the day hauling fabric bolts around and cutting fabric and re-arranging stock, as well as designing, so wearing casual clothes made sense. Every once in a while I had to interact with clients and I dressed accordingly, although I never had to wear classic business attire. I don’t think anyone in the entire company had any business attire.

But I certainly understand dress codes in industries where making a professional first impression, or carrying on a business relationship requires nice and/or conservative clothing. That would include law, finance, some kinds of sales, hospitality, etc.

  4. Happy birthdays cobble & snappy!

I wear a suit but no tie Mon-Thurs and casual (jeans OK, but no shorts or sneakers) on Fridays.
I wear sneakers a lot on weekends, jester. Care more about having comfy feet that anyone’s sartorial opinion!
