Cobble, it was your birthday? Happy Birthday! I hope you had fun. It couldn’t have been nicer weather.
I do think we’ve gone too far with Casual Workday in some cases. What’s wrong with postal workers wearing their uniforms? I can see making them more comfortable for hot weather, but wearing something that identifies one as a real postal worker would need to be a necessity, seems to me. All occupations that require uniforms should be banned from using polyester, however. We have the technology to do perma press without the horrible 1970’s poly. I don’t know how cops and firefighters can stand their dress uniforms.
Also, I hate tee shirts with company logos on bank tellers and employees. I don’t want the people handling what little money I have to be indistinguishable from fast food servers. Some occupations just need gravitas in dress. Next we’ll be going to court and the judge and DA and defense attorney will all be in shorts and sneakers. Please!

jb: +’s: great atmosphere, nice classical trio playing, cheap drinks (and snacks). apparently this is normally for members only. also the museum was small but great, so a well-spent $5 entrance. had nice time with son, but no connections. there were several possibilities but talking to strangers is tough
American Express called this am. Some strange charges on my card and so I need a new card. I spent over an hour on the phone (including my paranoid need to call them back myself) and the best was when they sent me to one individual who wanted me to send an updated Date of Birth.
I told them it is the same. (although I am considering updating it). Anyway after my wiseassy remarks, and the process of 20 questions (I ask the questions and they say yes or no), I determined that my drivers liscense would be sufficient since I don’t carry around my Birth Certificate.
Hopefully, I will get a new card tomorrow as they promised.
