I read benson’s thread at 11PM… wow, he even mentions me!
imo, it’s not that people aren’t nice, it’s just the internet.
I share his feeling about one thing… but sort of flipped. He wonders what he’s doing here where no one thinks like him (of course, there are other nabes that he might like better in that regard).
I wonder why there are almost no technical / handson / blue collar /engineering types who choose to live an urban lifestyle. That’s a question I sorta share with benson.
a massive duane reade is about to open on 3rd ave and 57th st. looks like it’ll have some supermkt type stuff like bread, frozen food,… never seem that before in other duane reade stores. hope they’re consolidating the 2-3 stores which are 1-2 blks away else it would be over-kill (ie like those starbucks at every freaking corner)
I hope before I die I read all the books that I own. But I’m always reading, I do all my reading on the subway. Try and do a book a week.
JB, are you baiting Tybur6?
I see I didn’t miss much.

People who read really only read 5% of what’s out there. People are super specific when it comes to reading. Nothing wrong with that.

“I go through phases of great enthusiasm for reading and then long periods where I read nothing at all”
Etson – same for me, but with masturbation.
Right now I am reading a book “Counselor” by Ted Sorensen, JFK’s advisor. I haven’t read any fiction for a while.
I go through phases of great enthusiasm for reading and then long periods where I read nothing at all (apart from work stuff / maps / websites).
